Martino Provisions is a multi-generational foodservice distributor, based out of Hawthorne, New York. If you didn’t already know, Martino Provisions is, and always has been, locally-owned and family-owned since its conception.
In the 1970s, our second generation owner, John Martino Sr., would head to work at his father’s butcher shop on Rhinelander Avenue in the Bronx. After learning the intracies of the business from his father, John Martino Sr. decided to start working with one of the store’s suppliers, who just so happened to be an authorized Boar’s Head distributor.
In 1974, at just twenty (20!) years old, he was offered an opportunity he couldn't pass up — taking on a supply route from his store's Boar's Head supplier. Alongside his father, the two purchased a rundown truck and embarked on building and growing their own brand new business — Martino Provisions.
Since their humble beginnings in 1974, our family business has grown, but stayed just that — a family business. Alongside John Martino Sr. and his father, John Martino Jr. now runs and manages every facet of Martino Provisions, and loves every second of it. (Fun fact: our family has 20 other family members across 5 other Boar's Head routes. It really is a family business for us!)
We've grown our business how we've wanted it over the past 40 years, and we want to help you do the same!
